Terms and Conditions

By buying an area on Monumentas, you agree to these terms. Please read them alongside our Community Rules and Privacy Policy.

What you are buying

What we sell is a digital product. When you buy on Monumentas, you are buying a specific area of the cube, made up of pixels, for a term of 1 month, 6 months or one year, as you choose. The smallest area you can buy is 5 by 5 pixels. The price is €0.10 per pixel per month, paid in one payment for the whole term, so a 5 by 5 area costs €2.50 for 1 month, €15 for 6 months or €30 for a year. When your order is bigger than 30 by 30 pixels in total, a discount applies: 5% on the 6 month term and 10% on the yearly term. The 1 month term has no discount. For the whole of each term you pay for, that area is yours: a digital product that you hold, and not a service we perform for you. All prices are in euros. As a small business under the French VAT exemption (TVA non applicable, article 293 B du CGI), we do not charge VAT, so the price you see is the price you pay.

While you hold your area, you may use it to display an image and a reasonable number of links, including as an advertising or publicity display for yourself, your brand, or your project. We do not charge anything for that use, and we do not provide it as a service. We sell you the product, the area itself, and whatever you choose to do with it afterwards is your own use of something you hold. The content you display on it stays subject to our Community Rules for as long as it is shown.

Term and automatic renewal

Your area is bought for 1 month, 6 months or one year, starting on the day your payment succeeds. At the end of each term it renews automatically for another term of the same length at the price shown when you bought it, unless you cancel. About 30 days before each renewal we email you the renewal date, the amount, and how to cancel.

You can cancel at any time from Manage billing in your account menu. When you cancel, nothing further is charged after the term already paid for, and your area stays yours until the end of that term. It is then released, as described below.

Missed payments and release of your area

If a payment fails, whether a renewal or the first payment, our payment provider Stripe will try again over the following days and you will be asked to update your card. If the payment still cannot be collected, your subscription ends and your area is released.

When an area is released, because you cancelled, did not renew, or a payment was not made, it becomes available to other sponsors, and its image, links and related data are permanently deleted from Monumentas. We cannot restore them afterwards. Payments already made for past terms are not refunded.

Payment and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your digital product is delivered and activated immediately once your first payment succeeds. You therefore give your prior express consent to the immediate delivery of that digital product, and you acknowledge that, by receiving it immediately, you lose any statutory right of withdrawal that would otherwise apply to digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, to the extent permitted by applicable law, including under EU Directive 2011/83/EU Article 16(m).

We do not give refunds, with one exception, which is when the fault is clearly ours. Examples include a technical error that charged you twice, or an area that was never actually delivered because of a system error on our side. Outside of cases like these, all payments are final.

Areas bought before yearly terms

Areas bought as a one time purchase, before Monumentas moved to yearly terms in September 2026, keep the terms they were sold under. They are not charged again and are not released for lack of renewal. They remain subject to our Community Rules and to the removal and deletion rules below.

Your content, and our responsibility

You keep ownership of any image you upload. By uploading it, you grant us a license to display it on the cube as part of the Monumentas site for as long as your area exists. You confirm that you have the right to use and share whatever you upload, and that it complies with our Community Rules.

Every image and link on Monumentas is uploaded by the user who holds that area. We do not create, endorse, or take responsibility for any content that users upload or display, and we are not liable for it. What we can do, and will do, is remove, hide, or erase content that breaks our rules, and deactivate or permanently delete the accounts responsible.

Content removal and account deletion

We may remove, hide, or erase the image and links on any area that violates the Community Rules or these Terms, at any time, without notice, and without a refund. Removing content does not by itself end your term on the area. For repeated or serious violations, we may also ban or permanently delete an account, or delete an area. A deleted account can no longer sign in or buy areas, the areas it held are released, and any yearly subscription for them is stopped. None of these actions entitle you to a refund.

Continuity

We intend Monumentas to last, and we have built it with that intention. That said, like anything hosted online, this is not a guarantee against events outside our control, for example if the site ever has to shut down entirely. We will make reasonable efforts to give notice if that were ever to happen, and we will stop charging renewals.

Links to other sites

Links displayed by other users point to third party sites that we do not control and are not responsible for. Visit them at your own discretion.

Limitation of liability

Monumentas is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, nor for content that other users upload. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Changes

We may update these terms occasionally. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
